Hello friends and family! We are in Erding,
Germany. I have not been able to call with the calling card but I think we found
the problem. I came to the Internet cafe to look up the calling card web site
and they listed the number incorrectly in one spot so now I will go back and try
to call again. This keyboard is strange...the y and the z are mixed up and I
keep typing them vice versa. Anyway, please remember that I can be reached at
the hotel at the number I gave you. We are six hours ahead of you. If you want
to try to dial our room direct, you can trz to replace the last 0 at the very
end of the number with 201. Otherwise, just call and ask for us by last name.
They do speak English. I have contacted US air by phone and they said to call
back after 8 pm Germanz time which would be 2 or 3 in the afternoon USA. Also,
US air's web site shows that some flights have resumed already. We will just
wait and see. I will trz to call the airport later tonight after 8 pm and again
tomorrow morning. We would have to be there by 10 am local time to check in and
so they should tell us something by then. There is room in the hotel if we need
to stay another night. There are also some bed and breakfasts in town so we may
ask around for a cheaper rate. If we do this, I will email again with the new
phone number. By the way, did you hear about Hamburg? We're trying to look at
the bright side thinking that Germany will be even more cautious than ever now
that there are links to their country. Well, I'm signing off for now. I think my
time is going to run out soon. I may try to email again tomorrow if we get stuck
here. It's only about 2.50 per hour (5 Deutsch Marks). I love you all and hope
to see you tomorrow night!!!
Love, Melissa and Mark

Hello from Erding, Germany. We are here at 5 pm
Thursday, unsure if our flight will leave as scheduled tomorrow. We've got our
fingers crossed. Just thought you might want to know how it's going. We're very
sad about what happened, and we're anxious to get home, but we appreciate the
extra security measures. Please pass this email along to anyone you think might
be interested. Hope to see you at work Monday!
