Fort Lauderdale, Florida In September, 2004, Mark, Sabine, and I joined the rest of the family on a trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, sponsored by S.A.F.E. We spent our week playing in the sand, lounging by the pool, and getting in that last week of sun before fall. It was touch and go at first, because Hurricane Jeanie swept through the day before we were scheduled to go. But all reports indicated the this part of Florida was relatively untouched, so we headed down and had a wonderful time! Some of the highlights included a Steelers game that Keith, Derek, and Mark attended the first night (in the pouring rain!) and a trip to Bahia Mar Marina, where the fictional but famous Travis McGee (the character made famous by author John D. MacDonald) moored his houseboat, the Busted Flush. |

Ocean City, Maryland In August, 2004, Mark, Rory,
Jaime, Sabine, and I spent a week in Ocean City, MD. We had a
wonderful time at the beach, at the pool and just hanging around. We
also went mini-golfing (where Sabine showed a great deal of aptitude) and
took a trip out to Assateague to see the wild ponies. And let's not
forget the wonderful boardwalk, where we strolled for several hours and
had a fun "vintage" photo taken. |
